Luxe Southbank Retreat free car park, swimming pool

Peaceful stay in a lovely apartment Positive: Very clean, modern and well appointed apartment in a quiet location. Good value for money for a family with two bedrooms, lounge and dining. Balcony a nice touch. Perfectly located for our needs (attending VCA open day). Host answered questions quickly and helpfully.

Convenient & well priced for our budget, but could do with some extra attention to basics & comfort. Positive: Location and cost were good and the property was overall ok - just lacking basics. Also, I did accidentally leave my pillow behind and the host was helpful in allowing my son to go back and pick it up for me. It was also great having parking available. Negative: There was no toaster and no bread and butter knives (pretty basic items), and when I messaged the host they originally didn't do anything about it. By the time they finally offered to drop these items off (after I messaged again the next day) our stay was almost over. Also the gas cooktop doesn't light and there was nothing there to light it with, some power points didn't work, the tv in the lounge was weirdly located nearly on the floor and the bin liners didn't fit the bin. And the furniture in the lounge room was not very comfortable. I also never saw the pool, sauna or hot tub. I don't know where these were located and there was no information provided to find them. We weren't there for long and it was winter so we wouldn't have used them, but it is information that should be provided to guests.

Positive: The location, the apartment was wonderful. Had everything we needed Negative: The only things I could fault would be the communication with the property owner I had to follow up questions about check in and check out as they weren’t clear with the process. And also would be good to know what level the facilities were on as the lift doesn’t provide that information.

Very disappointed Positive: Close to tram stop, and shrine of remembrance Negative: Had to collect keys from an IGA round the corner that was not affiliated with the motel at all, booked on booking.com under Luxe Southbank retreat, to find accommodation name was The Guilfoyle. Waited over an hour to have the “building manager” not associated with the phone number on booking to activate my fob to use the pool and “sauna” that doesn’t exist. After me watching an induction video on YouTube first, and having to use the name of Sanjiv on 15 questions I had to answer after videos, Pool was cold. Room was very dirty, couldn’t see in bathroom mirror seems it was so cloudy, mould on shower door, dust and hair on the toilet, told the person on the mobile number given only to be told “ the cleaner is cleaning after each check out but I will tell him to clean more efficiently sorry.” For the $370 plus spent (for 2 nights) would have thought it would be clean. Then there was PARKING took us 24 minutes to find our level and assigned parking spot after driving up and down and all around as car spot numbers not NOT in any numerical order, nor signage available to show what level your on as it jumped all over the alphabet, so no idea where you needed to go. Very disappointing and lack of concern from management.

Great apart from the little bits and pieces missing in the apartment Positive: Perfect location to reach everything in the city easily by tram or on foot. Tastefully appointed The free parking in the basement of the building was the biggest drawcard. Negative: There were 2 TV sets but according to someone who lived there, the building has no antennae so no reception unless you had a special card. No knives in the cutlery drawer, no detergent for the dishwasher and no tea towel. Our information email gave a password for WiFi but named no provider.
